BP (NYSE:BP) Questions Government Oil Spill Figures

The grandstanding Democrat, Rep. Edward Markey, from Massachusetts, is evidently outraged that BP (NYSE:BP) is actually questioning the very high figures put forth by the Government as to how much oil spilled into the ocean.

In an attempt to make it look like he's taking the high road, Markey said, "I continue to urge BP to accept these numbers in order to move on to the vital task of Gulf restoration, instead of endless litigation."

But why should BP simply accept the numbers? When the numbers first came out, I thought they were very high, and with billions at stake dependent upon those numbers, there's no reason in the world to simply accept them as fact and go forward.

BP attorney Douglas Curtis responded to Markey saying, "Without addressing the letter's premises, BP agrees with you that it is important to determine the amount of oil that was discharged from the MC 252 well in the Gulf of Mexico."

Government scientists claim 53,000 barrels a day escaped the well into the Gulf of Mexico, while 62,000 a day escaped leaked at the beginning of the spill. That results in the estimate of 4.9 million barrels being released into the Gulf.

Of that, about 800,000 barrels were captured by BP before the well was finally capped.

Giant BP (NYSE:BP) Oil Plume Exposed for Hoax it Was

The story of the 21-mile long oil plume, which was allegedly also 65 stories high and a mile wide, keeps on getting better. We asked the question of whether or not it was a hoax on Friday, August 20, and it increasingly looks like it was.

Of course it's being spun a different way this time around, with other scientists saying a "newly discovered fast-eating species of microbes" have leveled the giant skyscraper oil plume.

The original plume was said to be invisible by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts. We won't be listening to their nonsense any longer, as they've lost all credibility.

Even on Friday they said the oil was still out there and the ocean currents had swept it away. Now they're getting in bed with the new story saying it complements their original fairy tale.

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution also said it didn't seem the organisms were eating the oil very quickly either, contradicting today's story.

The New York Times and Washington Post jumped on this story, and we said at that time it's one of the reasons they're declining so much, as it's the story they wanted to hear, rather than actual news.

Once the "scientists" understood the dilemma of having the size of oil plume in the ocean and no one able to find it, the next story had to be created of a new species of microbe that operate at cooler temperatures than previously known.

It's not that something like that couldn't be discovered, but having a different set of scientists create a story which both parties agree "complement" one another is suspicious at best; just as the original story was in its overreach.

Take into consideration the original story was asserted on the day of the House subcommittee hearing on the oil spill, even though Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution said they had made the discovery two months before.

Either they held back the information, created it for Democrat Ed Markey, who heads the committee, in order to pressure the leader of NOAA to capitulate in his original estimate that 75 percent of the oil had left the Gulf, which it indeed has, if not more now.

Markey savaged the NOAA lead scientist based on this faulty information and what could have been a hoax from the beginning.

The bottom line is, as originally stated, the oil has for the most part, been taken care of by the Gulf itself. That seems to trouble the fairy tale narrative some of these so-called scientists created for what appears to be a private agenda.

Democrats Trying to Change BP (NYSE:BP) Oil Spill Report

Democrats, led by Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey, are attempting to change the narrative of the damages associated with the Gulf oil spill by strong-arming National Oceanographic Administration scientist Bill Lehr into changing the conclusions of his report that revealed the Gulf of Mexico incurred far less damage than thought, and had in fact cleaned itself up very well, without the help of the U.S. government.

The Gulf of Mexico's healing properties evidently outrages the Democrats, who don't want that politically incorrect body of water contradicting their agenda.

What Markey and the Democrats are going to try to due is get the data from the report from Lehr submitted to peer review, and then put in place those performing the so-called peer review to puppet what they want them to say.

The report accurately depicted the fact that the oil had evaporated and bacteria in the Gulf were flourishing from the increased amount of oil and were eating it very quickly.

Markey, who from past comments in unrelated matters, seems to have deeply rooted psychological problems, harassed and tormented Lehr as he abused his power over his outrage that the report didn't fit into his preconceived notions.

Markey is among those that continue to call the British liars over the alleged connection to the release of the Lockerbie bomber, which everyone in the British government, present and past, have said there is no connection to.

That has also outraged the volatile Markey, who doesn't like to be contradicted when he's creating his fairy tales.

The Democrats and Markey seem to be so obsessed with the good news of the report, that they're not going to stop until they get someone, somewhere to say the oil is still devastating the Gulf, and there is far more remaining than the report from Lehr states.

Democrat Ed Markey wants BP (NYSE:BP) to Blindly Accept Oil Estimate Numbers of Government

With tens of billions on the line, the incompetent Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass. has again managed to place himself in the media spotlight by writing a letter to BP (NYSE:BP) pressuring them to blindly accept the estimated amount of oil that went into the Gulf of Mexico.

This is the same media whore that attempted to tie the release of the Lockerbie bomber in with BP and the British government, and wouldn't stop even after every party involved said there was no connection.

Him and three other of his Democrat colleagues looked the fools, and Markey want to the outrageous length of saying it was "blood money," as far as doing deals with Libya.

What Markey didn't bother checking was the United States had far more deals with Libya than the British did.

Here's what the totalitarian Markey says now concerning the government numbers of oil spilled from the Gulf in a press release:

"BP acceptance of a flow rate number is fundamental to its claim that it 'is doing everything it can to make this right' for the families and businesses of the Gulf. Low-balling or litigating the flow rate estimate would be just one more insult to the people of the Gulf."

No it wouldn't Markey, it's what a free people and free nation are allowed to do.

This is an attempt to control the responses and reactions of BP in what appears to be an outright brutish manner. To say its an insult to people in the Gulf to disagree with Government figures on the oil spill isn't low-balling, but just doing what any company or organization should perform: due diligence.

This Markey needs to be pressured to step down after the outrageous accusations against the British and now attempting to force BP to accept Government figures, which are very suspect, at best.

Evidently what Markey doesn't like is the government being questioned and accountable itself.

The truth is from the beginning I've felt the government figures were far too high, and evidently BP does as well. There's absolutely nothing wrong with BP challenging them if that's what they choose to do.

But Markey is obviously on his own political mission, as using the press release speak to itself in delivering this message.

Making outrageous and idiotic statements is his choice of weapon to remain in the public eye. But now he's beginning to look so totalitarian and stupid, it would be best for him to slither away and hide under a rock than to continue his media outbursts.

BP (NYSE:BP) Disperant Not Toxic Says Environmental Protection Agency

Although environmentalists have dishonestly said Corexit, the dispersant used to battle the oil in the Gulf of Mexico spill, the Environmental Protection Agency found in tests it is no more toxic than the oil itself in the ocean.

The EPA also tested eight other dispersants, and came to the same conclusion.

Paul Anastas, EPA assistant administrator for research and development, said the oil remains "enemy No. 1, not the dispersant used to combat it.

"I have not seen any evidence, any data, that has shown wildlife sickened or killed because of dispersants," Anastas said Monday.

Democrat Congressman Ed Markey of Massachusetts, you know, the same one that called the unproven theory that BP was behind the release of the Lockerbie bomber, and calling it "blood money," even though the British government and politicians have all said there is absolutely no connection.

Now Markey, trying to remain in the public eye by mentioning outrageous claims that the EPA ignored a federal directive to use dispersants only occasionally it dire circumstances. The EPA and BP have both claimed the use of the dispersants did decrease afterwards.

Markey is evidently a radical conspiracy theorist, who sees bogeymen behind every situation there is out there. The Democrats need to rein this guy in, or the Congress in general needs to have him step down from chairing the House Energy and Environment Subcommittee, which is giving him the platform to spew his bile.

So what is it? Did the Environmental Protection Agency and BP collude together against the Federal Directive or not? Is the EPA lying about it? That's what Markey contends.

Now I'm waiting for him to release the new information on the aliens in Area 51. Come on Ed, let's hear about it!

The EPA did say that ultimately the decision lied with government representative Thad Allen. So if the government put Allen and charge and he gave the okay for dispersants in certain circumstances, what is Markey talking about?

It seems what Markey and others are really angry about is the disperants worked, and made it easier for the microbes to eat the oil after it was broken down.

Now there is little oil to be found in the Gulf and Markey and those of his ilk don't have a big oil presence as a platform to show their faux outrage over the poisoned Gulf, which didn't come about.

It also seems Markey and others are outrage the Gulf of Mexico is great a healing itself. This wasn't supposed to interrupt the wanted narrative which never occurred.

The bottom line is the EPA found Corexit was helpful and worked well to do the job it was intended to do. That's too much for environmentalists and their political allies to accept.
