Claiming they've only been able to catch approximately 68 percent of it projected goals for fish, Omega Protein (NYSE:OME) has made a claim to BP (NYSE:BP) to compensate them for the alleged losses.
Omega Protein is the largest producer of Omega-3 fish oil in the United States.
In a press release on Thursday, Omega Protein said the total catch of menhaden, which they harvest for the fish oil, was down about 32 percent, as of July 9.
The claim was based upon the closing of some of fishing areas in the Gulf where they usually get their catch, because of the oil spill in the region.
