BP (NYSE:BP) Changes Payment Process: No Checks for Fisherman

Checks expected to be paid out on Wednesday by BP (NYSE:BP) for hundreds of Gulf fisherman, weren't, and now their lawyer is scrambling to find out what the new changes will mean to his clients.

Jeffrey Briet, who represents over 500 Gulf fisherman said this, "Not only did they spring it on us that the process has changed, but the people I've been dealing with for six weeks who've done a good job said, 'We don't know what the process is going to be. We're not authorized to talk to you about it. Someone from BP will contact you."

There has evidently been no communication between BP and Briet, and not only didn't the fisherman get paid, but there is no knowledge of when payments will resume and what the changes in the process are.

Those processing the claims assert they have received so much conflicting information about the proposed changes, that they are clueless as to what is going on and have no answers.
