Cliffs (CLF) (STO) (CLD) (WCRX) (WSM) (CI) (VQ) Ratings, Price Targets

Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF), Statoil (STO), Cloud Peak Energy (CLD), Warner Chilcott (WCRX), Williams Sonoma (WSM), CIGNA Co. (CI) and Venoco, Inc. (VQ) had ratings and price targets on them adjusted by analysts.

Macquarie upgraded Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF) from a "Neutral" rating to a "Outperform" rating.

Goldman Sachs downgraded Statoil (STO) from a "Neutral" rating to a "Sell" rating.

BMO CapitalMarkets upgraded Cloud Peak Energy (CLD) from a "Market Perform" rating to a "Outperform" rating.

Goldman Sachs downgraded Warner Chilcott (WCRX) from a "Buy" rating to a "Neutral" rating.

Wells Fargo & Co. downgraded Williams Sonoma (WSM) from an "Outperform" rating to a "Market Perform" rating.

Susquehanna upgraded CIGNA Co. (CI) from a "Neutral" rating to a "Positive" rating.

Global Hunter Securities downgraded Venoco, Inc. (VQ) from an "Accumulate" rating to a "Neutral" rating. They have a price target of $12.50 on the company.

Statoil (STO), Statoil (STO), Holly Energy Partners, L.P. (HEP), U.S. Steel (X), Kronos Worldwide (KRO), Medtronic, Inc. (MDT), BlackRock, Inc. (BLK), Comerica (CMA) and Daktronics, Inc. (DAKT) had ratings and price targets on them adjusted by analysts.

Statoil (STO) was downgraded by HSBC (HBC) from an "Overweight" rating to a "Neutral" rating.

Holly Energy Partners, L.P. (HEP) was downgraded by UBS AG (UBS) from a "Buy" rating to a "Neutral" rating.

U.S. Steel (X) was downgraded by Longbow Research from a "Buy" rating to a "Neutral" rating.

Kronos Worldwide (KRO) was downgraded by Deutsche Bank from a "Buy" rating to a "Hold" rating.

Medtronic, Inc. (MDT) was downgraded by Deutsche Bank from a "Buy" rating to a "Hold" rating.

BlackRock, Inc. (BLK) was downgraded by Goldman Sachs from a "Buy" rating to a "Neutral" rating.

Statoil (STO) (XYL) (PFCB) (DELL) (MXWL) (ABB) (AKZOY) Ratings, Price Targets

Statoil (NYSE:STO), Xylem (NYSE:XYL), PF Chang’s (NASDAQ:PFCB), Dell (NASDAQ:DELL), Maxwell Technologies (NASDAQ:MXWL), ABB Ltd (NYSE:ABB) and Akzo Nobel N.V. (OTC:AKZOY) had ratings and price targets on them adjusted by analysts.

Citigroup (NYSE:C) initiated coverage on Xylem (XYL). They placed a "Neutral" rating on the company.

PF Chang’s (PFCB) was upgraded by RBC Capital from a "Sector Perform" rating to an "Outperform" rating.

Statoil ASA (STO) was downgraded by Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS) from a "Neutral" rating to an "Underperform" rating.

Dell (DELL) was downgraded by Robert W. Baird from an "Outperform" rating to a "Neutral" rating. They have a price target of $20.00 on the company.

Maxwell Technologies (MXWL) was downgraded by Robert W. Baird from an "Outperform" rating to a "Neutral" rating. They have a price target of $21.00 on the company.

ABB Ltd (ABB) was downgraded by ING Groep from a "Buy" rating to a "Hold" rating.

Akzo Nobel N.V. (AKZOY) was downgraded by Macquarie from an "Outperform" rating to a "Neutral" rating.

Citigroup (NYSE:C), Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) Hired for Statoil (NYSE:STO) Unit IPO

Statoil ASA (NYSE:STO) has reportedly hired Citigroup (NYSE:C), Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) and ABG Sundal Collier Holding ASA to manage the initial public offering of their fuel and retail unit, according to a Bloomberg report.

Responding to declining reserves in the North Sea, Statoil is selling the stake in Statoil Retail & Fuel ASA to fund expansion to other regions of the world.

Expectations are the offering will generate as much as $1 billion, which would be the largest IPO in Norway since 2006.

Statoil applied for the IPO to the Oslo stock exchange on September 2, and if approved, will have 45 days to conduct the listing, based on the rules of the exchange.

Exxon Mobil Acquires 35 percent of Block 2 Offshore Tanzania from Statoil

Statoil ASA (OSL:STL) recently announced they're transferring 35 Percent of Block 2 Offshore Tanzania to Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM). The terms of the transaction weren't revealed.

Statoil said they're retain the remaining 65 percent stake in Block 2.

The Tanzanian government approved of the deal in the early part of March 2010, and Statoil said Exxon Mobil has the expertise in deepwater to properly work the area.

Statoil (NYSE: STO) Acquires 25 Percent Interest in Chukchi Acreage From ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP)

With new technology which can see beneath the salt on the ocean floor, oil leases are becoming a major source of potential income on the large bodies of water, and so has generated renewed interest as oil demand continues to rise. To that end , Statoil (NYSE:STO) acquired a 25 percent working interest in 50 leases ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) owns in the Chukchi Sea in Alaska.

Top executive for Statoil's exploration group in North America, Tony Doré, said they already own 16 leases in Chukchi, and adding another 50 gives them a large swath to explore in the years ahead.

ConocoPhillips will begin drilling in the area sometime in 2012.

Also as part of the deal, ConocoPhillips will receive a 50 percent working interest in 16 Gulf of Mexico blocks owned by Statoil, as well as all of the 25 percent working interest Statoil has in five other Gulf of Mexico blocks they have working interest in.
