Now that BP (NYSE:BP) has stopped the flow of oil from entering into the Gulf of Mexico, fisherman are back working, and the compensation fund to pay for damages ready to launch on August 23, a shrinking number of Americans consider it an important issue any longer, and that is sure to fall quickly as reminders of the failing economy come back into their focus.
Another major factor was the discovery that relatively little oil actually remained in the Gulf, although a few fringe people with vested interests are attempting to make it appear that's not the case, even as evidence shows the contrary.
An AP poll found that only 21 percent surveyed believed it would have any effect upon them over the next year, while a declining 60 percent even consider it important now.
The only thing that kept it on the minds of people was the continual video of the oil flowing into the Gulf. Once that stopped, the situation completely changed, and people are looking at matters that actually are affecting them (other than residents of the Gulf).
Upcoming elections will focused on the failed Obama policies of spending over a trillion dollars with no results, and with nothing changing in the economy since he and the Democrats took power, people are looking at jobs and the growing outrageous federal deficits as the key issues.
The oil spill is already a fading memory for many, and in a very short time it won't even be thought of by most Americans.

Sir, Madam:
These reports upon spill volume and estimating to be 4.9 MB are most probably gassing, they had the figure not up to any mechanical flow drawing and they hade a week measurement tools, if BP done what had commented even for couple of hours it my be reasonable figure and even this closing is really money consuming process, no any wise person will do such mistake to close 100000 or more B/D oil with all those expenses BP paid and will pay, beside dropping in there assets, while the method and white paper they wanted from me was the real success of overcoming the disaster soon and cheep. The principle is to capture the oil in it’s well outlet down in sea base, and now after oil went up and mixed with sea water collecting it is really disaster, even when BP closed the well by cup they where searching for oil leek while when they closed the last vale the 7 inch diameter oil production pipe filled with methane gas along with H2S which it is very toxic (poison) gas 100 ppm is killing all craters. Then shouldn’t say BP done well but can say they had done mistake after mistake. The latest news I red is BP is programming to make what I suggest to do on North Sea east UK. Look even they never E- mail me.
