Obama Uses Publicity Stunt with Daughter to Counter His BP (NYSE:BP) Mistake

Obama used his daughter Sasha in a publicity stunt aimed at rectifying his mistake in calling the BP (NYSE:BP) oil spill the worst environmental disaster in American history, which resulted in people staying away from the region in droves.

His inaccurate remarks resulted in the loss in millions of money from tourists who usually flock to the Gulf region in summer months.

What Obama did was take his daughter and presumably went swimming in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and had a staff photographer take a photo of the event in order to give the appearance that travelling to the Gulf and vacationing there was completely safe, and that they were open for business again.

His remarks make it look like the many beaches in the area would be covered with oil, which later on were proven to be unfounded. There was of course some oil found, but nowhere close to the extent asserted by Obama, but by then was too late.

Now with most children back in school and the summer vacation season largely over, this is too little, too late, to have any effect this year.
