Alcoa (NYSE:AA) Lobbying Spending Up in Second Quarter

Alcoa (NYSE:AA) has been increasing its lobbying budget since the second quarter of 2009, when they spent $400,000, to the 2010 second quarter, where they spent $680,000 to lobby the government.

In the first quarter of 2010, Alcoa spent $560,000 for its lobbying efforts.

With the possibility and threat of cap-and-trade legislation, Alcoa lobbied heavily concerning that, as well as on issues related to financial reform.

Particular issues within cap-and-trade they focused on were the implications to international trade and credit for early action.

Defense contracts related to the Navy and Air Force were another key part of their lobbying efforts, which included talks with the House and Senate, and in other concerns, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

This information came from a July 15th report filed with the House clerk's office.
