Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) Sued by Environmental Groups

Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) has received notice from environmental groups in Texas that they're going to sue them for alleged violation of federal air pollution laws.

The latest target in the environmentalists scheme is the oil refinery in Baytown, Texas, the largest in the United States.

A 60-day notification must be given to a company if they're being sued under the Clean Air Act, as well as to the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, which has been done.

Among the complaints listed against Exxon were the release of sulfur dioxide; hydrogen sulfide; benzene; butadiene; carbon monoxide; and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere.
