Rahm Emanuel's BP (NYSE:BP) Ties

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has been found to have ties with BP (NYSE:BP), which has allowed him to live rent-free for a five-year period in Washington, D.C.

The questions surround Emanuel's connection to Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., who owned the apartment which Emanuel lived in for free. DeLauro's husband Stanley Greenberg's consulting firm is the one which worked for BP on repositioning himself as a "green" corporation, which reportedly received hundreds of thousands of dollars via a committee which Emanuel chairs.

The conflicts of interest are clear and obvious, making it a situation which needs to be probed deeper in light of the growing questions concerning the response of the Obama administration to the BP oil spill.

AFter Elizabeth Birnbaum resigned from her post for loose oversight in relationship to the BP disaster, the newly appointed Bob Abbey was given the job of turning around "a culture in which regulators favored the oil and natural gas industry."

A couple of facts ---indeed, ANY facts---would make this an interesting article. Solid journalism.
