BP (NYSE:BP) Improves Oil Recovery

After the recent setback from an underwater robot hitting a containment cap and stopping the oil recovery efforts by BP (NYSE:BP) from one of their systems, the company is back on track, with Friday's results starting to reach capacity levels again.

If the weather allows it, BP has plans to put another oil capture system in play which will increase levels to over 50,000 barrels a day, which may end up capturing all the oil leaking out of the oil well.

Oil recovery for Friday came in at 24,550 barrels, an increase of about 3.5 percent over Thursday's total, although down from the highs they had before the robotic accident.

For natural gas, BP flared about 54.5 million cubic feet on Friday as well.

BP hasn't improved anything this reads it has plans to do so, until its done its not done. Furthermore any threat of a hurricane and they will have to dismantle the whole thing and put it back leaving 10 days of uninterrupted oil flow every time the threat arises. Stop with the misleading titles amazed this made google news line.

Actually, the improvement is that they got back to where they were. The new system would further increase capture. I think you need to read a little more carefully Keith.

Keith, if you have a better suggestion please let us hear what it is.

A storm would indeed be terrible, however remember that in the grand scale of things:
-This leak is a drop in the bucket compared to what leaks off the coast of Nigeria.
-If BP were dismantled and sold for parts, it would be worth 68$ a share, minus what they spend on cleanup.

If BP were a bank, they would have been bailed out and still allowed to trade unhindered. There are clearly double standards between domestic US and foreign companies. These wells are sunk close to home because the US doesn't like reliance on the Middle Eas. You can't have it allways

If we drilled in shallow water and in ANWAR instead of a mile under water this wouldn't be an issue now would it?
