BP (NYSE:BP) CEO Reiterates Company will Pay for Oil Spill Claims

It's got to be frustrating for BP (NYSE:BP) (LON:BP) in regard to paying out legitimate claims from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, as over and over again they've clearly stated they're going to do it, and somehow it gets lost in much of the fear-mongering from the mainstream media and other outlets in order to get eyeballs to their screens or web sites.

CEO Tony Hayward again has affirmed the company will pay out any legitimate claims resulting from the accident. What is it that people don't understand about that? You can't make it any simpler or clearer than that.

The reason for having to say this again could have come from the somewhat silly comments from Obama that BP shouldn't be "nickel-and-diming people."

I'm not sure where Obama got off saying that, but he's evidently playing to his base and the growing criticism he's getting there.

Either way, this has nothing to do with politics and there's no reason to disbelieve that BP won't be good for their word.
