Another 337 checks were approved by BP (NYSE:BP) to pay to businesses damaged by the oil spill, this time totaling about $16 million.
All checks were written to companies which had filed for damage claims from the accident.
This particular round of checks were for claims made of $5,000 or over.
BP says it has 25 claims offices opened, and to date has written 25,000 checks for a total of approximately $63 million.
There has been some dissatisfaction with the pace of dealing with damage claims, but when you consider this is an oil company thrust into an area they have no expertise in, it's understandable.
