Piper Jaffray (NYSE: PJC) CEO Compensation Down

Piper Jaffray CEO Compensation

In a proxy statement filed on Monday, Piper Jaffray (NYSE: PJC) Chief Executive Officer Andrew Duff was revealed to have received a major plunge in compensation in 2009.

Duff reportedly received a compensation package worth $1.6 million, way below the $5.5 million he received in 2008.

Piper Jaffray paid Duff the same base salary he received the year before of $400,000, and a bonus of $1.2 million added to that.

The difference was with stock bonuses, which he received $4 million worth in 2008, while receiving none in 2008. After splitting off from U.S. Bancorp in 2008, Duff also received another $570,000 to offset equity he lost when he had to surrender it after the split.
